I Almost Quit

Yesterday I almost quit.  It's not that I ate poorly or made particularly bad decisions, it was just one of those moments where I thought to myself, "Why bother?  I'm just going to be fat anyway."  These are the defeating thoughts that I need to get out of my head.  They don't do me any good and they end up causing me to make really bad choices.

I almost shoved a cupcake into my mouth when I didn't even want one.  I almost put that cupcake in my mouth and said, "screw it, who cares?"  But then I remembered I care.  I am uncomfortable and overweight and I want to be in a different place physically.  I remembered not to be defeated and I remembered that hormones play a big role in the way I was feeling.  I chose not to quit and I moved on.

I could have eaten that cupcake and not failed.  I could have eaten that cupcake and not quit.  But for me, yesterday, skipping that cupcake was a symbol that I am worth the extra effort and the work it takes to achieve my goal.

Today I will not quit.  Today I will persevere.  The first two weeks are the hardest and I will keep on.

I still have plenty of good food that will help me stick to the plan.  I am still going to eat whatever I want on Thanksgiving.  I am still going to get right back to the plan on Friday and continue on.  I am not giving up.

As promised, I did not weigh myself.  Especially in this headspace, that's an important thing for me this week.
