Forward Motion
It seems time slips through my fingers on a weekly basis! It's been weeks since my last update.
For the last three days I've taken a step back and not followed any particular plan. I was getting all in my head about weight loss and whenever that happens I know it's time for a break. After today, that break is over, but it was a much needed time to step away. Just a few days so don't worry! I've learned to allow myself breaks like this so that I can, ultimately, stay the course.
Did I lose? Well, sort of. I lost since the beginning of the week. But I have maintained my weight since January 31st. It's almost like February was a wash. And if I'm honest, the past six or seven months have been a wash. The good thing about that? I haven't put on any extra pounds. There's a lot to say about maintenance. I had a bit of a scare after the holidays, but I'm right back at my steady plateau.
And the plateau is entirely my own doing.
I'll lose some, I'll gain some and I'll eat on plan then I'll eat off plan. It's a pattern I know all too well and one of the reasons I quit dieting altogether some years back. But I see the good in it. When I quit dieting "for good" I gained and gained and gained all the way to almost 190 pounds. At 5'2", ouch!
But even with my half-hearted efforts, I've managed to take off 19.5 pounds (as of this moment). That shows me that trying, even if it's only a little, is still worth it. Forward motion, however slow, is still forward motion.
Until next time!
