Crazy Busy
Life has been very busy lately. It's also been quite stressful. I'm making it through and trying to be there for those who need me, including my kids. It's been a balancing act. Either way, the weight loss continues, so I can't complain in that department.
Last week there was a death in the family. It was a very sad and difficult time. Also last week after hemming and hawing we decided to put our house on the market and try and sell once again. This will be our third attempt since living here. We actually don't hate our house or anything, it's just the location. We're near the center of town and it's loud and busy. Some people really like that, but it's not our thing. Either way, we hope third time's a charm.
So, as far as weight loss, I'm standing right now just barely in the 170s and that's so relieving for me. Reaching into the 180s was a bit of a sad time. When I got that high it felt almost like I had given up. Well, no more. Life's been nuts, but through it all I'm still not quitting. And put in perspective, my life's not nearly as tumultuous as some people I know. I have relatively short term stress and an end is in sight. Perspective.
I've been doing Weight Watchers FlexPoints and it's been good. It's workable in a way that THM really wouldn't be in this busy time. I can really eat whatever, just watch portion size. I try to keep light Greek yogurt, fruit, salad, low fat or fat free dressing, chicken, 94% fat free popcorn and a few other things on hand so that I don't derail. I've found my few things that help, so I'll continue to buy those and make sure to keep the cabinets and fridge stocked. Maybe I'll do a post where I list helpful foods. I'll have to keep that one in mind. Also, funny enough, keeping light ice cream or frozen yogurt in my freezer has been super helpful. I don't always want it, but knowing it's there helps me to no want to run to Dairy Queen, which, by the way, is about a two minute drive.
So in the midst of everything, my weight loss continues and that is good. If this has taught me anything, it's that in order to accomplish any goal, mindset is everything. The tools are always there to do whatever you want, it's just being in the right head space to be able to use them.
